Overview of the action
HIPEAtMount aims to attribute HIPEs over the Alps to ACC. The project has the following specific research objectives (ROs), each of which is addressed in a work package (WP):
RO1. To establish a systematic ranking and monitoring process for HIPEs in the Alps, incorporating atmospheric characterisation to improve our understanding and rapid detection of these events (WP1).
RO2. To develop an EEA framework tailored to alpine and mountain regions that provides a rapid and physically consistent answer to the question of whether ACC has exacerbated both the occurrence probability and intensity of a particular HIPE (WP2).
RO3. To quantify the increased likelihood of specific observed HIPEs in the future climate of the Alps by means of the latest high-resolution climate simulations (WP3).
